Demand in Zambia for computers has grown enormously over the last few months after the Zambian government included ICT (Information Communications Technology) on the national curriculum. This is a positive step for education in the country; using the internet to access resources and support enhances teaching and learning in schools. Furthermore the use of ICTs contributes to the country's development through its impact in social and economic sectors (agriculture, health and education), and by empowering individuals to take advantage of new opportunities.
Wednesday 29th April was a record day for ITSA as we sent 864 computers and laptops to our programme, Computers for Zambian Schools. The shipment required a 40 foot container, to fit all the computers and other IT equipment.
