So for this weeks post I wanted to share the experiences of one of our volunteers who has been helping out in the ITSA warehouse for a number of months - meet Ben!

Ben - I started volunteering back in March this year so that's.....5 months now!
Q - How would you describe an average day at ITSA? And what sorts of tasks do you take part in?
Ben - I'm based in the warehouse so I take apart PC's, test the flat screens to make sure they work, check some of the printers, and destroy the hard-drives that have failed tests or if their capacity is too small for our specification.
Q - Since you've been volunteering at ITSA, do you feel like you have gained any new skills?
Ben - Well, I didn't know how to pull apart a PC before...and I would probably say it's improved my team working skills as there is always a group of us working together in the warehouse.
Q- How do you think those skills you've developed at ITSA will help you in the future?
Ben - Hopefully they will help if I apply for jobs in computer technology, and also it will give me more confidence to go for those types of job roles.
Q - What is your favourite thing about volunteering for ITSA?
Ben - The work we do and why we do it, so knowing that I am helping African schools to have computers - and also I enjoy working on the computers.
Thank you Ben for giving an insight into what it is like to volunteer at the ITSA warehouse!
