- 53 schools buy equipment
- 610 computers supplied
- 48,800 students given access to ICT
We started the Buy One Get One Scheme at our programme in Zambia to support schools that have very few or no IT facilities. The cost of living in the country remains high and fuel prices are among the highest in the world. With very little funding from the government, schools struggle to buy computers, even at low cost. We’ve found that by offering an incentive to help schools buy their first computers, this is having a significant impact. Since January 2018 the scheme has helped: We know that there are still many students who can’t access a computer and we want to do more to help these schools. We hope we can fund a further 300 and provide a total of 600 computers to schools in Zambia in 2019.
