The amazing prisoners of Rye Hill PDF Print E-mail
Prisoners at Rye Hill prison near Rugby have raised over £400 for IT Schools Africa.
Back in September, out of the blue, we received a letter from a prisoner in Rye Hill prison near Rugby, informing us that a number of prisoners had decided to raise money for IT Schools.
ryehill.jpgOver the next couple of month a number of prisoners made donations from their wages, and four of them went the extra mile undertaking a sponsored run on the gym's running machines.  In total the prisoners raised over £200.
Rye Hill is a category B prison run by G4S.  When it heard about the prisoner's generosity and IT Schools Africa's work  G4S agreed to match the money raised by the prisoners, bringing the total to over £400.
We are very grateful for all our donations, but we count this one as a particularly special.  We can't name the one prisoner who made it all happen or the others that contributed, but we are very grateful to them and to G4S for their generosity.
