VSO Education Project in Ghana PDF Print E-mail

ITSA sent 80 computers to Ghana in January 2006 to support of a VSO education programme. The programme is being implemented in eight districts in the north of the country to improve the quality of education.

The programme aims to improve teaching of literacy, numeracy, science education and community involvement in schools and to raise awareness of HIV AIDS and gender issues among education stakeholders.

You have no idea how much these computers will help to finally move our project forward having reached a standstill.'

Patience Gamado, Head of the Education Program at VSO International in Ghana has expressed her gratitude for ITSA's support:

You have no idea how much these computers will help to finally move our project forward having reached a standstill. While there is a clear need for computers to support teaching, learning and management in the deprived schools and districts we work with, there was no way VSO could have afforded these 80 computers, so many thanks to IT Schools Africa for their swift response to this need.
