African school childrenITSA works with distribution partners in several African countries, who are responsible for selecting schools, distributing computers, training teachers and providing ongoing support. The partners are typically charities or NGOs with specialist knowledge of IT and education. They also receive shipments, test equipment and carry out any necessary repairs.

ITSAs work in Africa is divided between its collaborative Country Programmes with partner charity CFAS (Computers for African Schools) and Other Projects which it runs independently.

Country Programmes

ITSA works on country programmes with CFAS in Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Tanzania, supplying computers to all state and mission secondary schools in these countries. (Please note that the Tanzania programme is spearheaded by Rotary International).

The ITSA-CFAS programme aims to send 5 million computers to Africa by the Summer of 2010.

Other Projects

ITSA donates to individual projects in Ghana, Kenya, Sierra Leone and Niger, supplying computers to schools, community centres and charities in these regions. The projects aim to improve literacy and numeracy and raise awareness of HIV AIDS.
