  • The goods are received by the local distribution partner, made up of a committee with specialist knowledge of IT and education
  • The British Council facilitates importation of goods ensuring their receipt, duty free
  • Technicians check computers after shipping, load on the software and distribute the computers to the schools
  • By agreement with Microsoft Africa, Microsoft Operating System and Office Suite are installed on each computer
  • Inspections are made to each school to ensure they have adequate facilities to house the equipment
  • A five day IT teacher training programme is provided for two teachers from each recipient school
  • Follow up audits are made to each school

  • Set up a computer lab with 10 computers in each school
  • Connect schools to the internet
  • Link schools in Africa with schools in the UK
